Alia Mir, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, has been awarded
the Wildlife Conservation Award by the administration in appreciation of her
conservation efforts in the region. The award was presented to her by J-K
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at a ceremony honoring her achievements in
wildlife conservation. Alia is the first woman from Kashmir to be associated
with the charitable organization Wildlife SOS, which is part of the Wildlife
Rescue Team. As a distinguished sociologist, she was recognized for her
significant contributions to wildlife conservation, including rescuing bears in
Kashmir, releasing wild animals back into their habitats, providing care for
injured animals, and preserving wildlife. The award was presented to her at the
World Forestry Day festivities organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Collective
Forests.
The Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, has
disclosed a budget of Rs. 1,18,500 crore for the Jammu & Kashmir Union
Territory in the upcoming financial year. Out of the total budget estimates,
which stands at Rs. 1,18,500 crore, Rs. 41,491 crore has been allocated for
developmental expenditure, while the capital component of the budget has seen a
significant rise.

1,06,061 crore, and the revenue expenditure is estimated to be Rs. 77,009
