Controversy over No-ball and Free hit- ICC T20 World Cup 2022 India Vs Pakistan Match.

Pakistan qualifies for the ICC T20 World Cup semi-final.

Pakistan, after heavy defeats from India and Zimbabwe, bounced back by winning all three other matches against the Netherlands, South Africa, and Bangladesh and entered the semi-final. The Indian cricket team, which already qualified for the semi-finals with one match remaining against Zimbabwe, is likely to play its semi-final against England at Adelaide on the 10th of November. Then Pakistan will face New Zealand in the semi-finals at the Sydney Cricket Ground on the 9th of November. If both India and Pakistan register wins against their rivals, then the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will be between India and Pakistan. And fans will get a chance to watch a repeat of the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup played at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Semi-final

  1. Pakistan vs New Zealand, 9th November, at SCG – Sydney Cricket Ground
  2. India vs England, 10th November at Adelaide.

Virat Kohli was bowled by Nawaz, still he took 3 runs.

An interesting scene happened in the first match between India and Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup, in which Nawaz bowed a free hit to Viral Kohli. On the 4th ball of the 20th over, Virat Kohli was bowled on a free hit. However, both the batters took 3 runs while the Pakistani fielders were watching and were confused about what to do. Before the free hit, Pakistani fielders were also disappointed by the decision of the umpire about a no-ball. Fans and former cricketers are discussing the scene on social media.

According to the ICC rules,

On a free hit, the batsman can take a run even if he gets bowled, as the ball is not dead unless the fielder can field the ball and remove the bail. The runs will be counted towards the team's total as byes, but not for batsmen.
